MDCAT 2020 new Aggregate formula.
MDCAT is a highly competitive exam. There are almost around 1 lac students who appear in MDCAT and are hoping to get admission in medical colleges, but only a mere amount of this chunk (around 3600 students) is able to get into government medical colleges. So this test is a matter of life and death for the students especially those who are middle class and can't afford to get into private medical colleges. So students work day and night to be in the top 3600. But this year another fear is developing in Repeaters. As this year FSC exams weren't conducted and the students were promoted on the basis of part-I marks and repeaters were not allowed to go for improvement so there is an element of fear prevailing in them that is causing them mentally disturbed because if special exams are not conducted then their marks will be too low to compete for MDCAT. As a reaction of this students started social media campaigns and said they need a change in Admission aggregate formula. They want 70% MDCAT and 30% FSC. They think this is the only solution to compensate for this gap between repeaters and freshers. And this is true too. MDCAT is a test that challenges the concept and book reading of students. Increasing test percentage will provide equal opportunity to freshers and repeaters to secure their seats. Authorities have taken notice of this and we will be having a final decision in front of us soon. According to VC UHS, he said, "I am with repeaters and, will not let any injustice happen to them". This means he will do every possible step to facilitate the students but the final decision rests with PMDC. Let's hope for the good.
